When you’re doing desserts, why go halfway? Rich in flavor and moist in texture, devil’s food cake is a favorite for chocolate-lovers. Not all desserts get a chance to be celebrated but May 19 marks National Devils Food Cake Day. Celebrate this magical day during your short term leases by whipping up this delicious treat! Grab a box of Devil’s Food Cake Mix, 1 box of instant chocolate pudding, 1 cup sour cream, ½ cup water, ½ cup vegetable oil, 4 large eggs, chocolate icing, fresh strawberries and blueberries to concoct this delicious dessert. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees while mixing the cake mix, pudding mix, sour cream, water, oil and eggs in a large bowl. Using a whisk or electric mixer, combine the ingredients in a large bowl. Pour the batter into a pan dusted with flour and bake for 27-32 minutes. Once out of the oven, allow to cool in the pan for 20 minutes. Run a knife along the edge to release the cake and start designing. Cut the cake in half to create two layers, coat with icing and spring chopped fruit. Stack the second layer, ice the rest of the cake and design the top with your fresh fruit. Slice and enjoy!
