With the kids getting stir crazy, it can be hard finding new and innovative crafts at your temporary housing in New Jersey. These easy sponge butterflies will flutter the kids excitement and create beautiful art. For this project, you will need at least 1 sponge per person, pipe cleaners, elastic bands, sequins or gems, glitter glue and crafting glue. Step 1, cut the kitchen sponge in half like a sandwich, so it becomes two thin sheets. Next, tie an elastic band in the center to make a bow shape. Next, twist a pipe cleaner around the body and have two ends pointing off the top for antennas. Twist the remaining pipe cleaner hanging off the top around a pencil to create the antennas. Now its time to decorate! Using the glitter glue, sequins and gems, decorate your butterfly however you see fit. Let them dry and they are ready for play.
