Magic Milk Experiment

Start with some room temperature milk, food coloring, cotton swabs and dish soap. Fill a small bowl with the milk and add a few drops of your favorite colors, when you first add the colors they will sit on top of the milk, slowly spreading. Dip the cotton swab into the dish soap, as you dip the soaked cotton swab into the milk, watch the magic happen. The soap causes a chemical reaction that makes the colors mix together and moves around in the milk. In fact, it’s not really the colors moving, but the food coloring that allows us to see the chemical reaction between the soap and the milk fat.
