Whether you have snow at your furnished housing in New Jersey or not, this snow globe activity is sure to entertain the kids! Using everyday items, lets the kids create their custom and personalized snow globe as their imagine goes wild. All you need are clear plastic plates, paper, crayons and Styrofoam or small pieces of paper. Start by choosing a template or blank canvas and outlining the size of the plate. Allow the kids to color in the template or create their own snow globe scene, remembering to add white snowflakes to the sky. For more advances crafters, allow the kids to paint over their pictures with watercolors for an even more detailed image. Once the image is ready and dry, allow the kids to cut out the circle as well as stand (a strip of black paper works well). Next, glue the base to the back of the snow globe and pour 1-2 tablespoons of Styrofoam snow, ripped paper or coarse salt onto the middle of the picture. Last, glue the plastic plate to the snow globe. When the glue is dry, kids will enjoy shaking, twisting, and turning their snow globe!
